This session explores the pharmacy’s role in the National Security Strategy’s guidance of “Contact, Blunt, Surge, and Homeland,” with specific focus on the early phases of contingency operations. Participants will explore how to improve readiness through increased understanding of the systems in place that allow the United States to rapidly project force worldwide. Systems covered include strategic initiatives such as wartime contracts, clinical forecasting, prepositioned and sustainment stockpiles/war reserve, initial unit capabilities, and overseas resupply.
