Pharmaceutical Cost Savings Initiatives, Sourcing, and Logistical IT Solutions

Description

The Defense Logistics Agency  (DLA) continually works toward providing an efficient and responsive acquisition system that helps its customers buy medications strategically and cost effectively. Through the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) program, DoD is able to bring electronic commerce to health care operations so pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can easily navigate through an electronic data interchange to research products, place orders, pay bills, and manage inventory.  This session focuses on DoD cost savings initiatives and how to use DMLSS to leverage the strategic sourcing capability and pricing agreements to maximize cost avoidance.
