Legislative and Regulatory Update 2018

Description

This session provides an overview of recent developments in, and by, Congress and federal agencies that affect the practice of pharmacy. Congressional activities impacting the profession, such as federal provider status legislation, are discussed. On the regulatory front, federal agency efforts to combat prescription drug abuse, improve Medicare, and implement the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA) are discussed.

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to: 
1. Recognize recent federal legislative activity impacting the practice of pharmacy. 
2. Describe new federal regulations and activities related to the practice of pharmacy. 
3. State the current efforts at the federal level to reimburse pharmacists for their services.
