Dr. Amanda Nicolas is the Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor at Irwin Army Community Hospital and the outlying pharmacies for Fort Riley, Kansas. She oversees 10 pharmacist and 17 technicians while contributing to the day-to-day operations, managing schedules, and ensuring Joint Commission compliance. In response to COVID-19, she initiated several projects to encourage social distancing while still meeting the needs of the 38K beneficiaries and active duty population of the 1ID. Dr. Nicolas is learning to use baseline data , process improvement projects and technology to meet the changing demands of outpatient military pharmacy. Dr. Nicolas received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from Daniel K Inouye College of Pharmacy. Before starting her federal civil service at IACH, she held various positions from pharmacy intern to pharmacy manager in a retail setting.
