Safety and COVIDAPhA is cautiously returning to live meetings and events. This plan is subject to certain public health and safety rules and guidelines, and keeping public and staff health and safety a priority. These protocols address measures that the facility and individual participants are required to follow to ensure compliance with local public health requirements and recommendations with the goal of protecting all JFPS 2021 constituents.
All participants are required to read and confirm that they understand the APhA meeting-specific COVID-19 requirements and recommendations in place at the time of the event to ensure that each participant and vendor acts in accordance with the requirements. In addition, all attendees will be required to adhere to the following:
- Facility-specific COVID-19 requirements should be obtained immediately prior to the event, and circulated to and acknowledged by all event attendees, vendors and guests (“Participants”);
- Participants should not come to the meeting if they are not feeling well. Those that feel sick or have a fever should stay home;
- Participants shall be restricted to the maximum room occupancy allowed at the time of the event and APhA shall implement measures to enforce this requirement;
- Participants should be asked to wash hands (or use sanitizing gel) frequently during JFPS 2021.
- Participants should be encouraged to maintain social distance if required by local public health requirements;
- Use of masks should be enforced in accordance with local public health requirements;
While every effort has been made to address foreseeable pandemic safety concerns, the risk remains that transmission of COVID-19 could occur despite any efforts to mitigate the risk of transmission. Participant agrees that they have been made aware of and assume this potential risk.
Participant expressly acknowledges that by attending JFPS 2021, they understand the heightened risks from a failure of other individuals not following proper COVID-19 protocols, such as observing public health requirements and proper hygiene measures, and that participant recognizes that any COVID-19 protocols — as designed and as implemented — may be insufficient to prevent participants from contracting COVID-19 and suffering any related injuries, and that participant expressly nevertheless assumes all of these risks.
Participant hereby acknowledges that they fully understand the nature and extent of the risk related to the COVID-19 disease and participant assumes sole responsibility for any and all personal injury, disability, death, illness, damage, loss, claim or expense of any kind that Participant may experience or incur before, during or after JFPS 2021 and related to COVID-19. By agreeing to these terms, Participant expressly agrees to assume all of the foregoing risks including, without limitation, any exposure to, or infection by, COVID-19, of Participant and other Participants, and agrees to release APhA, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents, from any and all liability, loss, damage, claim, or expense claimed by Participant or on the Participant’s behalf, arising out of or in any way relating to such risks and also agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless APhA and its officers, directors, agents, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all demands, claims, damages to persons or property, losses, and liabilities, including reasonable attorneys’ fees (collectively, “Claims”), arising solely out of such risks related to Participant’s event.
