7456th Medical Backfill Battalion
Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Kevin Charles Gamble PharmD, MHRM, BPharm, Rph, BCPS is the Pharmacy Officer at the 7456th Medical Readiness Operations Unit (MORU) in Des Moines, Iowa. He works at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics as a Clinical Pharmacist as an Acute Care Specialist.
Kevin Gamble graduated from The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy with a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) and received his Army ROTC commission the same week in 1992. During his Activity Duty at Fort Benning, Georgia, he completed his Masters in Human Resources Managment (MHRM) from Troy University. After Active Duty, he returned to Iowa to join the Army Reserves and worked as a Home Care Pharmacist. While deployed to Afghanistan in 2004, he completed his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and was awarded the Bronze Star for his ICU participation and implementation of a new hospital. Other Reserve actions include missions to Japan, Belize, Panama and Fort Hood. Additional assignments have included disaster medical support for Hurricane Ike 2008, the Haiti Earthquake 2010 and serving medically challenged communities in the Appalachian Mountains 2014. As a Unit Prevention Leader (UPL), he conducts required testing, advises the Commander, remains current on illicit drugs and provides required training.
LTC Gamble is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Iowa. He has been CHCS trainer, EPIC Superuser, and project manager for Pyxis and Omni-cell automatic dispensing machines (ADS). LTC Gamble has obtained military badges for Expert Field Medical, Air Borne, and recently Air Assault. He has completed 4 Gold German Armed Forces Proficiency (GAFPB) and won the 2018 7456th Best Warrior Competition.
In his free time, LTC Gamble enjoys fixing computers, working on the family parcel in Southern Colorado and utilizing his CDL-A as a volunteer blood driver.
