Deputy Chief, Formulary Management Branch/Clinical Pharmacist
Defense Health Agency
Hello, my name is Adam Davies, PharmD and I am currently a US Army active duty pharmacy Officer (Major) assigned to work at the Formulary Management Branch (FMB) under the Defense Health Agency's (DHA) Pharmacy Operations Division (POD). My current role is the Deputy Chief of the FMB as well as being a Clinical Pharmacist reviewing new drugs, drug classes, and utilization management among other areas. I'm honored and very much enjoy working with a great team of tri-services (Army, Navy, Air Force), as well as PHS, multi-disciplinary team which serves our 9.6 million TRICARE beneficiaries.
I received my PharmD from Wilkes University in 2007 and worked retail pharmacy for 5 years as a pharmacist (over 11 years total in retail as I started as a technician and worked all throughout schooling) before joining the military. My first assignment, in 2012, for the Army was at Brooke Army Medical Center where I was the Chief of Outpatient Pharmacy and then Chief of the Supply & Support Pharmacy. My next tour, for 3 years, was in Hawaii at Tripler Army Medical Center where I was the Chief of Inpatient Pharmacy and then Chief of the Supply & Support Pharmacy. I completed a 1-year post graduate managed care residency in 2019 at the FMB of the POD.
I am very grateful for my family and friends. I enjoy outdoor activities and playing/watching almost all sports.
