Hospital Corpsman Chief Petty Officer Jennifer Igmenhurtado, recently selected Navy Pharmacy Enlisted Technical Leader.
Born and raised in the province of Tanauan Leyte, Philippines (the island where General McArthur landed). Her Navy journey began when she went to boot camp in March 1998, followed by Hospital Corpsman A-school in May 1998, and graduated Corps School in Sept 1998. Her duty stations includes USNH Guam; Pharmacy school, Naval School of Health Sciences, Portsmouth, VA; Naval Hospital Bremerton, WA; USNH Okinawa, Japan; EMF-Kuwait; Naval Medical Center San Diego; 1st Medical Battalion, Camp Pendleton; Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton (now NMRTC Camp Pendleton). She was fortunate to be a part of Pacific Partnership 2013, Native Fury (Oman, Jan 2016) and SPMAGTF 17-1 in October 2016 to April 2017 (Al Asad, Iraq and Al Jaber, Kuwait).
She advanced to Third Class Petty Officer December 1999, frocked to Second Class Petty Officer in May 2003, advanced to First Class Petty Officer in May 2008. Earned her Enlisted Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Warfare Specialist device in May 2016. She was pinned as Chief Petty Officer in Sept 2018.
Her personal awards include four Navy & Marine Corp Commendation Medal, 1 Army Commendation Medal, 2 Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, 5 Flag Letter of Commendation, 1 Volunteer Service Medal. Her deployment warrants her to wear 1 Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, 1 Global War-Terrorism Service Medal, and 1 Sea Service Ribbon.
Married to Gus with children-blessed to have AJ and Jon. Living in Oceanside allowed her to spend more quality time with her family while she performs her military duties. She believes that kindness goes a long way and everything happens for a reason. As Navy Pharmacy ETL, her goal is to connect the Navy Pharmacy technician community, no matter the distance.
