Commander (CDR) Greg Sarchet is serving in the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) stationed at the Whiteriver Service Unit (WRSU) in Whiteriver, AZ for the Indian Health Service (IHS). He received a Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy. He is a board Certified Pharmacy Specialist and achieved the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Coaching Certificate in professional development. CDR Sarchet currently serves as the acting Director of Professional Services overseeing 8 departments and over 160 direct reports at WRSU. Additionally he has been in the roles of Director of Pharmacy Services and Director of Clinical Outreach, overseeing programs providing pharmacy and medical services throughout the Whiteriver Apache Reservation. CDR Sarchet was deployed to Monrovia, Liberia, as the pharmacist in charge for National Institutes of Health (NIH) Ebola vaccine clinical trial. While in Liberia he implemented a partnership between WRSU and the Liberian School of Pharmacy to provide guidance in transitioning from a bachelor to a doctorate pharmacy program. In 2018 CDR Sarchet was awarded the CDC Childhood Immunization Champion for his work on increasing vaccination rates on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. In 2019 WRSU’s pharmacy program was recognized as the National IHS Innovative Pharmacy Program of the Year.
