During these uncertain times, there is a need for pharmacists to plan ahead and be prepared to work together to respond to public health emergencies. Beyond COVID-19, a response to public health emergencies, such as hurricanes, requires pharmacists to be ready for a variety of challenges. The use of telehealth has become a critical tool to help continue pharmacy services when there may be closures, power loss, flooding, or loss of supplies and staff. This session will help you get prepared for the inevitable through case studies of how pharmacists have risen to the challenge.

1. Discuss the need to develop a plan in preparation for a pharmacy response to public health emergencies and natural disasters.
2. Define the role of pharmacists in public health emergency preparedness and response.
3. Describe the use of telehealth to provide pharmacy support during an emergency.
