This presentation will address key points and lessons learned in working within a joint pharmacy environment, from the standpoint of a CPhT, with a focus on the technician, operational/administrative resources, and managing expectations in a joint pharmacy environment. A comparison of current Air Force specific operations and more cohesive joint operations in the future with the DHA model will also be explored.
Compare and contrast the DHA model to AFMS, AMEDD, and NAVMED.
Discuss the effects of “military appropriation” and how to avoid them.
Describe operational/administrative resources for the pharmacy technician and how to manage expectations in a joint pharmacy environment.
Lessons learned in our ability to “adapt and overcome”, successfully, the important of communication and how to recognize value-added vs. non-value added tasks/situations.
