COVID-19 has changed many things in our world, such as increased stress and isolation. The CDC has identified the importance of paying attention not only to our physical health but also our mental health during these unprecedented times. Unfortunately, the already overburdened mental health care system has led to reduced access, with face-to-face visits discouraged for safety reasons. This presentation will discuss suicide and depression screening of patients in a telemedicine environment.
Learning Objectives:
Identify strategies for pharmacy staff to engage patients exhibiting symptoms of suicide or depression in patient care.
Discuss the impact of telemedicine on the creation of innovative practice models which enhance pharmacy suicide and depression screening.
Summarize next level actions to employ pharmacy suicide and depression screening in a telemedicine environment.
