When and where is JFPS 2016?
JFPS 2016 is held October 30November 2, 2016 at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, just outside of Washington, DC in National Harbor, Maryland. The official dates are Sunday, October 30–Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Additional Pre-Conference Workshops are scheduled for Sunday, October 30. Check the Schedule for up-to-date information.

No Cover/No Salute Required
The Gaylord National Hotel has been deemed "No Cover/No Salute Required." Therefore, all attendees in uniform are not required to wear head gear, cover, or hat and a salute is not required. However, attendees in uniform who leave the Gaylord National campus are required to wear the appropriate head gear and render a salute when protocol would require such courtesy.

Hotel reservations can be made through the hotel reservation website. Federal and civilian rates are available. 

What is the recommended airport?
Gaylord National is just a 15-minute drive from Reagan National Airport and a 45-minute drive from both Dulles and Baltimore-Washington International Airports.

Registration is now open.

What is the registration rate?
The full conference registration fee for pharmacists and technicians is $175 for APhA members and $200 for nonmembers.

Is there a guest registration rate?
Guest registration is $75. Registration includes the exhibit hall, general sessions and evening events. Guests are not permitted in education sessions and cannot earn CPE credits.

Is there a one-day conference pass?
JFPS is offering a one-day rate of $99. As an added bonus, all one-day passes include access to the Sunday evening Opening Event in the Exposition.

What is included in my registration fee?
A full conference registration includes core educational sessions, exhibit hall activities, and evening events.

How do I register for individual sessions? 
You cannot register for educational sessions – seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Popular sessions will reach capacity, so arrive early. Additionally, JFPS offers a Pre-Meeting Workshop with a separate registration fee.

How will I know if I'm registered?
All attendees will receive a confirmation by email. This confirmation is your receipt and verifies your address, contact information, and amount paid. For questions regarding registration, contact the
APhA InfoCenter at 800-237-2742 (APhA).

What if I need to cancel my registration?
Registration cancellations must be in writing to the APhA InfoCenter and are refunded based on receipt:

  • By Friday, October 14 — Full refund
  • By Wednesday, October 26 — Refund less $30 fee
  • After Wednesday, October 26 — No refund

Can I attend only the Pre-Meeting Workshop and not the entire seminar?
The Pre-Meeting Workshop does not require JFPS registration to participate.


What is the maximum number of continuing pharmacy education credits I can receive at JFPS 2016?
APhA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education (CPE). Depending on their organization or branch of service, qualified attendees are able to earn up to 18 hours of CPE credit.

Will I be able to access the program on my mobile device?
Yes, the JFPS 2016 Mobile App is available, with new and improved features, access to the sessions and events, and much more!


How can I present a session?
Persons who are interested in presenting at JFPS should email Sally Taber, Education Senior Manager, with their CV and interest on topics or issues for consideration. The education session topics are determined by the Education Needs Survey and consultation with the JFPS Education Advisory Committee.  

How can I present a poster?
The online submission site for poster presentations is closed. The deadline for submissions was May 6, 2016. Please download the Call for Posters for additional information.

Do you have to be an APhA member in order to submit an abstract?
No, you do not have to be an APhA member in order to submit an abstract.
