The 2016 Joint Federal Pharmacy Seminar (JFPS), held October 30–November 2 at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, was a resounding success, marking JFPS’s third year as a newly branded federal pharmacy meeting. This year’s theme—Leadership Through Service—appropriately showcased innovative and best practices within the federal pharmacy communities. The conference provided an opportunity to receive 21 hours of continuing pharmacy education and review 52 poster presentations, for which abstracts will be published in the electronic January/February issue of JAPhA. Be sure to view the poster winners!
This year marked a turning point in attendance traditionally impacted by government budget constraints and travel restrictions. JFPS 2016 surpassed attendance goals of 450 attendees, with more than 650 attendees representing all aspects of federal pharmacy: USPHS, Veterans Health Administration, Department of Defense, and Coast Guard, plus other federal agency pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and our neighbors to the north, the Canadian Force pharmacists! A special thank you to our 81 exhibitors for their tremendous support of federal pharmacy and JFPS 2016!
Next year’s JFPS 2017 will be held September 10–13, 2017 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida. Mark your calendars and plan to attend!
